After opening our very own pub in March, The Tax & Pounds, it made perfect sense to lend our support to one of the UK’s best-loved beer events; Norwich’s City of Ale Festival.
For the first time, we’re really proud to sponsor this vibrant festival, supporting a 10 day celebration of everything that’s great about Norwich’s thriving pub, brewing and real ale scene. And it all starts on Thursday 25 May at the official launch party, taking place at The Narthex in the city centre. Get your tickets and come share a pint with us! Until 4 June, there’s a packed programme of events, from tutored ale tastings, to ale trails and quizzes. So whether you’re new to the wonderful world of real ale, or a seasoned enthusiast, there’s something for you.
Our managing director, James Kay, says the new sponsorship agreement shows Farnell Clarke are far from your typical accountants. “We like to go against the grain, innovate and shift the perception of accountancy, and that includes doing business in a relaxed environment, such as our in-house pub.
“We’re also working more and more with clients in the pub, brewing and hospitality sectors. Always striving to stay ahead of the accountancy curve, we introduce our clients to the latest technology, apps and cloud based solutions, to make keeping on top of finance as straightforward as possible. So that means our clients can spend less time staring at spreadsheets, and more time serving, brewing or supping the county’s finest beers.
“And we admit it, we’re real ale fanatics. Norwich has such a rich, vibrant beer scene and the City of Ale is a great celebration of that, bringing pubs, brewers and real ale fans together to put our beer culture, heritage and brewing innovation firmly on the map. Plus with money being raised for The Big C, we’re really proud to be supporting this year’s event.”
