What’s changing is our look, or to give it its correct term, our visual identity.
Since I founded the company in 2007 Farnell Clarke has grown rapidly. We’ve been at the forefront of Cloud accounting for the past five years and are now KashFlow’s biggest UK partner. Although many accountancy firms are starting to, albeit reluctantly, accept that Cloud accounting is the future, our whole business model is based around the efficient and innovative use of technology.
But whilst we’ve been busy changing and developing as a business the Farnell Clarke logo hasn’t evolved. As a team we felt very strongly that our existing brand mark no longer reflected the forward-thinking, ambitious and ‘un-typical’ business we have become.
So we sat down with our friends at Plain Speaking to talk about how we could spruce up the Farnell Clarke brand identity so that it accurately reflects our vision, values and personality. Plain Speaking suggested that we talk to a number of creative agencies and, whilst we were delighted with all the recommendations we received, one idea stood head and shoulders above the rest.
Our new visual identity is the brainchild of Scott Rozier, the creative director of FOUR Agency. Scott totally understood how crucial it was for us to look professional but with a twist. We’ve been describing ourselves as ‘not your typical accountants’ for ages now, but the subtle (and extremely clever!) shift to ‘far from your typical accountants’ marks a real step change in the way we communicate with our customers, and potential customers.
We’re really proud to be far from typical; our differences are what make us strong as a firm. With its combination of two type-faces, one formal and the other less so, the new logo reflects that we are a professional business with a friendly and informal approach. We’ve retained the purple tones that many of our clients are familiar with but Scott has added a zingy lime green to spice things up. You’ll also see a touch of silver; that’s because when it comes to cloud accounting, we’re your silver lining.
Over the next few weeks and months you’ll start to see our new logo, colours and design style coming through in a variety of communications tools: from e-newsletters to a brand new website; signage to stationery. Do tell us what you think.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients, staff (new and not so new), suppliers, partners and friends for your continued support.
I really hope you like the new-look Farnell Clarke.Back to Blog
